 The release  of the film Dies Irae  starring Pranav Mohanlal and the debut project of Vismaya Mohanlal, titled Thudakkam, coincided as a "double delight" for the Mohanlal family. Dies Irae, a Malayalam psychological horror film directed by Rahul Sadasivan and starring Pranav Mohanlal (Vismaya's brother), was released on October 31, 2025, with paid premieres starting on October 30, 2025. The pooja ceremony (inauguration) for Vismaya Mohanlal's acting debut film, Thudakkam (meaning 'Beginning'), was held on October 30, 2025. The joint timing of these two events made it an auspicious and special day for the family and the Malayalam film industry. Vismaya's father, the legendary actor Mohanlal, expressed his joy and noted the synchronicity of the events, describing the sequence of events in his life as a "vismayam" (wonder). 

For one the function was devoid of the guys who helped Lal take his baby steps in filmdom like Suresh Kumar who sounded the first clap and to first film Producer onwards.     Superstar Rajinikanth is currently busy with the shoot of Jailer 2 in Goa. Jailer was a mammoth blockbuster at the ticket windows collecting over Rs. 600 crores. At a time when Rajini was going through a slump, Nelson brought the star back into the numbers game.

    The latest buzz suggests that Santhanam is set to make re-entry as a comedian with Jailer 2. For a long time Santhanam has been doing lead roles, and it appears that he is coming back to entertain audiences in a comic avatar with the much-anticipated sequel. An official announcement is awaited.

    Tamannaah portions are missing in  Bahubali The Epic is the buzz.

    Baahubali: The Epic is releasing with premieres today in U.S. and tomorrow paid premieres in India. The response so far has been overwhelmingly positive. Shows are selling out as if Rajamouli’s brand-new film were hitting theaters. Needless to say, the entire team must be thrilled-except for one person, Tamannaah Bhatia who played a key role in the first part. According to reports and official team statements, Tamannaah’s portions have been removed from this version to keep the film tighter and more focused, including her songs. When Baahubali: The Beginning was first released, many viewers criticized Tamannaah’s character and songs, feeling they didn’t quite blend with the epic tone of the film. In fact, many felt she was miscast in Baahubali. Those sequences are now said to have been cut from Baahubali: The Epic. While the rest of the team celebrates the film’s grand re-release, it’s certainly disappointing news for Tamannaah. In the U.S., Baahubali: The Epic is on track to easily gross over a million dollars. This film is set to create a new benchmark for re-releases – it’s unlikely that any future re-release, regardless of the hero, will be able to collect even half of what Baahubali: The Epic is earning now, at least for several years to come.

Dude promotes Adultery says Mohan G

 Filmmaker Mohan G Kshatriyan, known for his films like Draupathi, Bakasuran, Rudra Thandavam, has expressed concern over the themes portrayed in the recent Tamil film Dude. Speaking to Tamil Janam, Mohan said that while open discussion on ideas and philosophies is essential, certain justifications shown in cinema could send misleading messages to younger audiences.

He said, “You can talk about any philosophy – about Periyar, or about Scholar Annadurai. You can discuss their principles; you can internalize those and have conversations about them. Everyone has the right to deliberate on ideas, that right cannot be denied. So, there’s nothing wrong in having these discussions. But what’s interesting about this particular film is, when such characters are created in the movie, usually the film keeps it negative or doesn’t provide justification. But the director here is quite a young guy – perhaps at his age, he doesn’t fully grasp the gravity. He’s actually justified the story he’s presented.”

Explaining the theme of the film, he said, “Essentially, two people fall in love from a very young age. It’s a blood relation, like cousins. At one point, when their love isn’t accepted, immediately the girl finds another lover within six months. When the wedding is about to happen with the new lover, she tells this to the hero. To unite with her old lover, she arranges a fake wedding with the new lover, and the interval of the film comes after that. Up to that point, the movie was very good. The screenplay remained engaging throughout. But in the second half, there’s a subject that seems extremely unpleasant; it’s hard to see how this is possible in real life. Pradeep Ranganathan is a really good actor; he created sympathy for the character and kept us invested in the film. It makes you want that character do whatever is necessary to achieve this goal. But if you look closely, after the child from the new relationship is born and the marriage is over, the hero puts his initials and gives permission for the girl and the new husband to live together in his house. This is repulsive. It’s hard for families watching this film in theaters, not to frown.”

Expressing his thoughts, he said, “The point of this interview is to say: If your children watched this film on their own, it’s important that you have a healthy debate with them. What did they take away from the movie? What mindset are they going to carry for the next 10 or 20 years? Again, I want to stress – they justify this strange notion of sacrificing your own life for your lover to let them live with someone else. That’s what’s justified in the film, which is a very wrong idea to pass on to the next generation. So, if parents see their kids watched the movie alone, have a discussion. Or better, watch the movie together, see these problematic themes, and open up a discussion; take it as a good opportunity for dialogue. That’s how this movie should be watched. The director’s justification is incorrect. There are many Tamil movies that have sparked such debates, like “Andha Ezhu Naatkal” and in most of K. Balachander’s films. In those films, the hero’s character would be portrayed as a villain, and the heroine’s character as a flawed or problematic one. They highlight that such things should not happen in society. But here, the hero and the director just go ahead with whatever they please. In today’s times, after losing phone contact for six months, just meeting at a wedding and discussing these things is not realistic, but that’s the director’s viewpoint.”

He further added, “There’s also a storyline where, after an abortion, it’s declared that the child will not be born again; this is just something the director put in for the narrative. There’s another plot thread about going abroad which was very forced. It’s pushing things as progressive, but it’s not something you can readily accept. Ultimately, it’s up to the audience to decide; I’m sharing my own views. To parents: if your kids watch this film, have a good discussion with them, it’ll be beneficial for you. And about the creators of the film—if something similar happened in their own families, think about what decisions they would make. Can you accept this if it happened to your family? So “Dude” has been well received, and has sparked major discussion among people. Through Sarathkumar’s character, the film addresses honor killings, which is very welcome. If, say, there was no love between the hero and heroine, and he sacrificed for them to be together, maybe it could be accepted. But if there was actual romantic feeling, it is disgraceful. So, the film has created a discussion. I urge parents and children to use this as a chance for healthy debate and understanding.”

Mohanlal and ivory Tusks ; Political Thriller / Karthi in Chiranjeevi film

The Kerala High Court ruling on Mohanlal and ivory tusks brings out a story that looks like a script of a Shaji Kailas – Renji Panicker political thriller film. Here the heroes are two retired Forest Officers and Mohanlal the Actor and Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Actor house has two sets of ivory tusks and few other ivory items ., Income Tax raids bring it out and Actor has no paper to show how he got it. It goes to Forest Department and by the rule book they book him for illegal possession of ivory tusks. Violations of the act can result in severe penalties, including hefty fines and up to seven years in prison.  Lalettan says that he did poach any tusker and bought it from a guy for Rs 65,000 and that the guy took it off from a tusker that died a natural death. Actor forgot to take a letter from the seller.

As a jail sentence with fine was sure and ivory trade banned, State Forest Department moved an amendment to Forest Act and legalized the possession of dead tusker’s ivory tusks. It gives an ownership certificate to Actor and says Case closed. All this started in 2011 at a Perumbavoor Court. Two retired Forest Officers challenge this ownership certificate. How can you give a certificate to a person who is facing a court case and that too backdate the order ? Should not the order be published in the State Gazette to invite public opinion as mandated by Law ?.

• Court said Can’t accept the state admitting that notifications were not published in the official gazette and justifying adequate publicity was given to the notifications and no prejudice anyone, and non-publication was only a technical irregularity with no legal consequence.

Next step is that Mohanlal should apply for a ownership and State Government should give it only after notifying it through Gazette. This will bring in objections from public. The criminal proceedings against Lal in Magistrate court will need to be closed for Government to issue a certificate.

Interestingly, the court never even commented on the other claims put forward by the petitioners, including the claims of collusion, or the exercise of the power. Judges observed that finding anything on those questions would be prejudicial against the actor during the criminal proceedings, which are yet to be completed against him in the magistrate court.

 Kamal Haasan birthday on November 7^th will see two projects produced by his home banner RKFI being launched. One is a Sundar C film with Rajinikanth as hero. Other is a Rajini- Kamal project and the Director has not been okayed at the moment.  Lokesh could be the choice as on six years since the release of Kaithi,  the team didn’t share any update or teaser about the sequel, even a simple line like “Dilli is coming back” which could have excited fans and created a viral moment online. Lokesh having given two big hits with Rajini ( coolie) and Kamal ( Vikram) is the logical choice. However Rajinikanth is advised to not work anymore on A certification films with excessive violence after Coolie experience with family crowds. RKFI may wait for Jailer 2 result.

Superstar Rajinikanth is back as Muthuvel Pandian, and the excitement for Jailer 2 is already huge. They will be revealed at the right time by Thalaivar himself.” Shruti Hassan who shared the dais along with Soundarya Rajinikanth said, “We have also dreamt of seeing them together. We are waiting like everyone for that one film. Among Rajini sir’s movies, my all time favourite is Padayappa (Narasimha). I enjoyed working with him.” Two biggest stalwarts of Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are set to star in a film very soon. Though it isn’t known who will direct this mega multi-starrer, the hype is already skyhigh. During an award function, Rajini’s daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth opened about this prestigious project. Drishyam 3 the Hindi film starring Ajay devgan is coming out as scheduled on October 2 2026. There was reports that Paresh Rawal close friend of Director Priyadarshan has signed thhe third sequel. Th Malayalamfilm third part makers have got issues with the Hindi version. Paresh Rawal said that he read the script and it was excellent but somehow it did not excite him as far his role was concerned. Meanwhile, on the Malayalam side, Drishyam 3 is already in motion. Mohanlal began shooting for the crime drama on September 22, with the official announcement following shortly after. In contrast, Ajay Devgn’s Hindi adaptation—helmed by Abhishek Pathak—is expected to go on floors only in December. After Mohanlal’s update, the Hindi team quickly announced an October 2, 2026 release date for their version. According to insiders, this sudden date reveal did not sit well with the Malayalam producers, prompting them to enforce the adaptation clause. Adding another layer to the friction is the directorial choice. Originally, the vision was to have all three versions—Malayalam, Hindi, and Telugu (with Venkatesh)—directed by Jeethu Joseph, with a simultaneous global release planned for October 2, 2026. But with the blockbuster success of Abhishek Pathak’s Drishyam 2 (2022), producer Kumar Mangat reportedly pushed for his son to direct the Hindi threequel, breaking away from the earlier plan. This decision is believed to have created creative differences, leading Antony and Jeethu to focus on ensuring the Malayalam film hits the screens before its Hindi counterpart.

It has come to light that Shobana’s threatened that if she did not dub for Jridyapoorvam would lead to her boycotting all promotions of the film. This led to the film release delay as the entire portions already dubbed by voice artist Bhagyalaksshmi had to be removed. Shobana dubbed in her own voice for Hridyapoorvam as she was playing a Tamilan lady. Shobana who has spend her childhood and schooling in Chennai is well conversant with Tamil and she insisted on dubbing it herself. Everything is fine but only that dubbing voice artist Bhagyalakshmi a veteran and a regular for Shobana had already dubbed for her. The voice artist revealed that without asking her, her voice was removed and actress voice used. In fact Bhagyalakshmi had pointed out that Shobana is fluent in Tamil but Director Tharun Moorthy insisted on her dubbing. The climax portions where the character yells and rants was Bhagyalakshmi vouce as only seasoned voice artist can do it, At least Shobana could have the courtesy to tell me.T. She said that she saw in interviews of Moorthy that Shobana had given her own voice as a plus for the film. In case of Manichithrathazhu ( Chandramukhi in Tamil)the Fazil film starring Lal and Shobana, the Tamil dialogues said was credited to Bhagyalakshmi. Later Fazil cleared the air by saying that the Tamil dialogues was dubbed by voice artist Durga based in Chennai. Surga wife of Director- Actor R Sunderajan is a prominent dubbing artist who has lent her voice to numerous leading actresses in Tamil films, including Nadia Moidu and Shobana. She has also worked in the Telugu and Malayalam film industries. Durga is second wife Sunderajan. His first wife Saraswathi is still alive and one of their son Deepak is a Film Director.
