Mohanlal in Sivakarthikeyan -ARM film -Gautham Menon next on cricket

 

Mohanlal has been roped in join the Sivakarthikeyan – A R Murgadoss project. This will be the next outing of Mohanlal after Jailer. Mrunal Thakur and Vidyut Jamwal are also in the film with Anirudh scoring the music. Film is produced by SriLakshmi Movies. It is comeback of ARM after failure of Rajini’s Darbar.

Gautham Vasudev Menon in an interview to Galatta Plus opens up why he is not doing love subjects and the fascination of Producers and heroes towards action and  Pan Indian films’ He also talks about the ordeals that he is going through to release the film Dhruva Natchithran (DN) on November 24^th.

He traces out the path by which the film got into a problem as there was a communication problem between makers and the investors and it got stuck and adding to it two years of pandemic coming in. He says that those who are out of Court has to be settled and is running around to get OTT to buy the film. He has sold theatrical rights of Kerala and Karnataka and will close Tamil Nadu soon. The non release of  the film has affected as many actors say that we will collaborate after your liabilities are cleared. He revealed that DN was told to Suriya and later to Rajinikanth.

Despite having given a hit love film Vinnaithandi Varuvayya , Producers say only action films will run and actors ask what is there in it for a love subject. He however plans to do a love subject with new faces on a small budget. He said that Vels International is waiting to do a film after the previous collaboration with Simbhu was a hit.

He tells about Vinayakan who played the antagonist in DN before Jailer did not pick up his calls after he got Rajini film. Menon has to bring in other characters to cover up Vinayakan absence. His next film is the same lines of Vendhu Thirutthaa Kaadu. He means a rustic backdrop hero character. Reason being that Directors who do rustic based subjects get lauded and those who do urban based subjects get stamped. Talking about heroes wanting over the top action scenes, he said that S J Suryah was different and they might work together soon. If DN works then has a sequel ready with Vikram again. Menon speaking on Star Sports Tami during commentary on World Cp Semis said that his next is a cricker based film and it about two village guys getting a spot in National cricket team and is based on Sachin and Ganguly.

S J Suryah is making his Malayalam debut in Suresh Gopi film titled SG 251. Directed by Rahul Ramachandran, SG plays a retired watch mechanic and what happens to him on a fateful day is the plot. Suryah had come in praise for his performance in Jigarthanda X. Rajini who saw the film praised Suryah. SG Garudan collected Rs 12 crores in 10 days.

Vijay 68 is remake - Vikram film on NetFlix - Mrunal - Priya Bhavani- Kalki - Atlee in news

 

Vijay 68 story is said to be the remake of 2012 Hollywood film Looper that has Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon in the The film is science film and set in 2044 where crime syndicates cannot dispose of their victim due to tracking system and so in the black market is available a time travel machine through which they sent their enemies back in time to present day and loopers or otherwise killers dispose the man that the crime syndicate. To close the loop , they send the looper to present day and they are also killed by the looper. To klll the looper the present da looper gets gold bars kept inside the body and for other victims it is silver. One such looper send by crime syndicate escapes the murder bid and the cat and mouse game by the two loopers forms the climax. In Tamil version both the young and old loopers are played by Vijay. Like Leo was remake of History of Violence , where this film is an official remake is not known.

Dhruv Natchitram OTT rights has been bought for Rs 40 crores by NetFlix and by that the film is releasing on November 24, The project was in the making for years as the Producers Madan and Gautham Menon who is also the director, got caught in financial troubles. In a bid to revive the project, Menon took the initiative to raise funds and for that he took to acting. Chiyaan Vikram had by then got busy. Finally the last portions were completed. The songs by Harris Jeyraj are a hit. Even after that there were many postponements. Now the OTT deal has cleared the way.

Jailer creates TV history and Thalapathy Vijay - A R Rahman, Rashmika and Anu Emmanuel in news

 

Jailer became the first film to get aired simultaneously in three South languages and Hindi. Yesterday at 6.30 PM, it was aired on Sun , Udaya ( Kannada) , Gemini (Telugu) and Star Gold ( Hindi). However Sun network Surya did not air Malayalam dubbed version. Jailer’s Tamil version was screened in Kerala and created a record at box office. Jailer’s was released in Andhra and TS with dubbed print and it beat Chiranjeevi film at box office. Simalrly Jailer was dubbed in Kannada with Shivaraj Kumar dubbing for his role and in Hindi too it was dubbed.

A R Rahman after two decades is scoring for a Telugu film and that is Ram Charan film directed by Buchi Babu of Uppena fame, Babu revealed this at the Bigg Boss Telugu episode yesterday. He said all pre-production work was over and the announcement will be made after Game Changer release. Rahman scored for Rajasekar starrer GangMaster directed by B Gopal. The reason was that the film Producer T Subbarami Reddy the industrialist was a friend. The film was dubbed into Tamil and it too ran. Next was remake of Kizhaku Cheemayile titled Palnati Pourusham in Telugu. Rahman Tamil track was used with Telugu lyrics. Both was in 1994. Most of Shankar, Mani Ratnam and Gautham Menon films that got dubbed into Telugu used Rahman tracks.

The lukewarm reception to Japan has been a setback to Anu Emmanuel in Kollywood. Her two earlier outings with Sivakarthikeyan in Namma Veetu Pillai and Vishals Thupparivalan were hits. Suriya v/s Kamal - New releases weak at US - Rajasekar wins big - Dunki new posters

 

If Rajnikanth and Aishwarya film is to clash with Dhanush Captain Miller for Pongal then April will see Kamal’s Indian 2 clash with Suriya’s Ganguva on April 11. Lyca announced Kamal film as April 2024 and two good dates are April 5 and 11. If Lyca moves to April 5^th then it will have to face NTR Jr Devara in Andhra and TS.

Japan and Jigarthanda x US collections have ben badly hit after these films got mixed reviews in Indian media. The makers fearing that the response from US could be bad and based on that collections in India would be hit had cancelled Thursday premiere shows. If this was not done these two films could have decent numbers. Karthi Japan collected $44,411 and Jigarthanda got $38,500 only and that too with no Telugu film releases.

The Annual general body meeting of the Chennai Rifle Club for the year 2023 was held on November 4 at the premises of the Police Officers Mess in Egmore, Chennai under the presidentship of Chennai Police Commissioner Shri. Vidamuyurchi shooting In Azerbaijan will continue even on Diwali day says a source. Kamal Haasan inaugurated the statue of Late Actor Krishna at a function in Vijayawada’s Guru Nanak Colony. YSCRP leader Avinash took the initiative to set up the Statue and got all permissions from Andhra CM Jagan. Krishna’s family in ten days handed over the statue. Avinash was praise for Kamal for taking time to come for the function.
