Meet BULLET BOSE who ENCOURAGED AJITH to take Racing as Sport

 Who is Subhash Chandra Bose the man who encouraged Ajith Kumar – AK to take up bike racing as a professional sport.

During an interaction with Mashable India, Thala Ajith Kumar opened up about his inspiration for racing. He said, “In September 1990, we had an endurance race for two hours. I finished fifth. I remember Mr Subhash Chandra Bose walking to my pits, and he said you should pursue motorsports. It's there in you.”

The individual who encouraged the actor Ajith to pursue car racing was Subhas Chandra Bose,ra Bose, also known as "Bullet Bose," was a renowned motorcycle racer who won the Indian Grand Prix title 15 times between 1968 and 1994. He is the one who approached Ajith after a race in 1990 and encouraged him to pursue motorsports. 

When asked what the young Indian bikers need to do to get into motorsport, Bose  said, “They need to have their parent blessings and support in the first place. You must be able to afford the safety gear. Once you can do that, you are good to enter into a good motorsport school.”

Ajith Kumar said, “Thanks to the film industry. It got me to a stage in my life where I could fund myself and pursue my passion for motorsports. I remember my father told me very clearly that the day you earn your bread and butter, you can do whatever you want to. When I decided to start racing again in 2002, he had nothing to say.”

Sharing the frame with Chennai based Subash Chandra Bose aka Bullet Bose and my Royal Enfield Super Meteor. Bose’s passion for racing started in 1968 on his fathers old Lambretta scooter. Although didn’t win but completed the 50 lap race. Soon he upgraded to a 250cc Jawa and the racing continued. It was in 1974 when he entered in the 350cc class with a borrowed Bullet from his friend. Very soon he became the bullet rider attaining an eye-popping speed of 100mph (160kmh) on the tracks of Sholavaram. During this time he was known as Bullet Bose amongst the fellow riders. Bose racing career spans wide with winning the Indian Grand Prix 15 times a record by its own.Bose dominated all the major racetracks in India from Sholavaram in Chennai to Juhu airport in Mumbai, Barrackpore in Kolkata to Safdarjung in Delhi and the Agram track in Bangaluru.Today I guess he certainly has lost count of his victories as his home is filled with the trophies. Despite having retired from active racing in 2007 Bose still rides across the country to name few Indo-China border in Arunachal Pradesh or the Khardung La pass in Ladak.

 Deccan Chronicle mentioned that Prime Video has allegedly bought Dhanush's Kubera  the film’s digital rights for a whopping 50 crore. This makes it one of the most expensive OTT deals in the Telugu film industry.

Kuberaa has a powerful cast featuring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh. This combination of talent from multiple film industries has already given the film a hot buzz in cinephile circles.

The movie is being bankrolled with a whopping 120 crore (via Deccan Chronicle), one of the costliest films in Dhanush’s career. Moreover, fans also have high expectations from Rashmika Mandanna, who has already delivered massive hits like Animal, Pushpa 2, and Chhavva.

THUG LIFE TRAILOR;; Kamal seduces Trisha - liplock with Abhirami - No VTV Jodi ?

 Thug Life trailor has thrown anew surprise – Trisha comes with Kamal Haasan and not STR as expected. Here again Kamal is shown to be seducing Trisha and at the same time, he grabs Abhirami and has a liplock. So is Kamal a womanizer ? Is Trisha leading him on for a reason ? Is the Trisha – Kamal relationship the flash point for the clash with STR ?

The son STR character is an adopted one is what we can gather and that Naazar could be his Thalapathy who is angry with adopted son given the major role. Joju George comes firing but could be the rival gangster or is he the Hitman – bodyguard of Kamal ?

Shah Rukh Khan abused Ajith and later apoligized - Flashback from Asoka Days

 This is an old story that is doing the rounds. The only thing I cannot figure out is that there was one Vishwa who was Ajith's Manager. As Ajith and I had a direct link and PRO's were not the only route, I cannot having any Vishwa around. Any read on what it is worth it.

THALA AJITH is a legend today. He is easily among the biggest South Indian Stars and can easily dominate a 150–200 Crore Worldwide Share on his own.

Yet Ajith himself was once a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan and loved the Actors movies especially DDLJ and KKHH released in the 1990s. He badly wanted to act in a remake of two SRK films- Dil To Pagal Hai and Baadshah but sadly things did not pan out.

IT was A.R Rahman who was responsible for Ajith acting in the movie Asoka. Rahman had composed music for Mani Ratnams Dil Se where Santosh Sivan was a Cinematographer. During the Song Chaiyya Chaiyya, Sivan and SRK talked to each other and Sivan pitched the idea of making a film about Ashoka. Rahman was there. In the end Rahman did not have the dates for Sivan and Sivan would go with Anu Malik but during the shoot of Kandukondein Kandukondein- Rahman who was supervising some things got talking with Ajith and mentioned the possible film about Ashoka.

Ajith was keen to act with SRK and asked his then Manager - Viswa to make it happen. Originally Suniel Shetty was being considered to play the role of Sushima but his dates were not very flexible. Sivan was delighted to rope in Ajith - a budding star of South Indian Cinema especially because Ajith did not quote a fee

SRK nodded when Sivan told him about Ajith. To SRK it was not a big role and he did not think twice about it.

SHOOTING

It was at Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh that the Shooting was scheduled for 8 days and was a scene for the Palace Intrigues.

Unlike these days - there was no Hotel and few Caravans (It was 2000). The Actors stayed in Indore and drove to Maheshwar for the shooting and returned back in the evening.

Ajith had arrived at the Shooting spot at 7:00 AM when he saw a few locals riding a modified bike. Ajith was having a 2–3 day stubble and was wearing ordinary clothes. He did not have a platoon of bodyguards. In fact very few people on the set knew him as anything but some person from the film team (The main team would arrive at 8:00 AM).

Ajith loved Bikes and he observed that these people were trying the wheelie and failing. He got irritated and proceeded to go to them and show them how it was done. These Locals had no clue who Ajith was and thought he was a set boy or spot boy and allowed him to ride the bike. Ajith soon showed them how to do a wheelie and they were impressed.

One of the youngsters - a Young man named Pratap Shingwekar who was from the Stuntmans association even told the Actor - that he could become a very important stuntman if he could do certain stunts with the bikes in some films. Ajith was amused.

At 8:30 AM - it was announced that the shooting was cancelled due to technical issues and would commence the following day. However SRK had already driven down to the shooting spot and when he saw Ajith riding with the locals - although he vaguely recognized Ajith - he did not think a budding south indian actor would be roughly dressed and play around with spot boys and locals and did not give a second look. The only person who knew who Ajith was was Ajiths driver (The Rental Car driver). When SRK asked one of the Managers - he said in Hindi “Koi Madraas se Shooting ke liya aaya hain” (Some guy has come for the shoot from Madras) and SRK assumed he was some kind of Asst Director or Technician to Sivan.

Once Ajith heard that the shoot was cancelled - he had to go back and he asked Pratap if he could drive the bike back to Indore to get the feel for it. Had Pratap known who he was he would have handed the bike in a second but Pratap had no clue who Ajith was except maybe a spot boy or some technician and hesitated . Ajith offered him a Cheque and Pratap who distrusted cheques finally shrugged and agreed.

Ajith drove on his bike racing on the highway passing SRKs car and racing ahead. SRK was affronted and ordered his driver to pass Ajith. SRK honked his horn a few times until Ajith stopped. SRK without getting out drove past Ajith and began to yell at him from the Window basically saying “How dare you pass me by? Suppose my driver had swerved and hit someone or we had been in an accident? You know who i am? I will make sure you are tossed out from the set” (Assumed Conversation. Basically SRK was ranting and raving)

SRK however cooled down a minute later and apologized. It was the delay of the shoot that had caused him to get annoyed. He was due to leave for London in a few days. All the while Ajith had not spoken a word. SRK offered Ajith a drink of Mineral Water and Ajith shook his head. All the while the two had communicated with gestures and SRK even left after telling Ajith in english “I showered a lot of choice hindi words. Luckily i dont think you understand Hindi…or even English”

However the minute SRK left - Ajith was fuming with Anger. He had been minding his own business when the Star had come in his way and had basically yelled at him for nothing. Ajith decided at that very minute to leave for home and cancel the shooting no matter what happened.

Santosh Sivan Pacifies the Crew

It was when SRK returned to the hotel, had cooled down and was replete with Cigarettes (It is rumoured he had forgotten his smokes which was why he was so upset earlier) when he found out that the person he had yelled at had Indeed been Actor Ajith.

He also found out that Ajith could speak flawless English and very good Hindi which means he must have understood every word that SRK had thrown at him.

He related everything to Sivan and Sivan decided to Pacify Ajith but this was where SRK proved he was a Gentleman.

SRK apologizes Openly

Even as Ajith was deciding to pack his bags, SRK knocked on his door and came along with Sivan and four others. He openly apologized without any ryders. He revealed why he had been so angry and Ajith whose initial reaction was to rebut any show of friendliness thawed. Its impossible to be angry with a big actor who humbles himself by apologizing directly.

Ajith and SRK had dinner together and it was believed to be SRK who advised him not to act in Bollywood movies but to Focus on Tamil Cinema. While they would not be great friends - they would always maintain and keep in touch. SRK would invite Ajith to his Box during IPL matches in Chennai (Which Ajith often turned down due to Crowd issues) and Ajith would act in a remake of Main Hoon Naa called Aegan. During the shooting of Vivegam - SRK congratulated Ajith on his muscles.

What Happened next?

Ajith became a huge star in Tamil nadu and became an A+ Lister by 2013

Asoka ended up becoming a huge flop and SRK incurred Rs. 5.70 Crores worth of Losses.

Ajith was paid Rs. 20 Lakhs for Asoka even though he had initially agreed not to take a fee because the Producer insisted.

Pratap Shingwekar sold his Bike to Ajith because the Actor loved the Bike. He rode the Bike from Indore to Chennai. Shingwekar later became a Stuntman and settled down in Dubai. He was one of the stuntmen for the movie Deewane Hua Pagal (Or something like that) in 2005.

Adhik to Direct Balakrishna ? Nayanthara cuts fee for Chiru/ Tourist Family World Record/ Dude Title clash

According to the buzz, Adhik Ravichandran recently met with Tollywood actor Balakrishna and narrated a mass commercial entertainer story. Balakrishna reportedly gave the green signal after hearing the story, and the project is likely to proceed reports M9.

We hear that Vidamuyurchi Director Magizh Thirumeni is in all probability to do Ajith’s next film. Balakrishna is known for his mass masala entertainers, and Adhik Ravichandran is considered a similar type of director. Therefore, if the project happens, it would be a treat for Balakrishna’s fans.

Further Balakrishna and Prabhu are close friends. Adhik is son in law of Prabhu.

Nayanthara has come on board for Chiranjeevi- Ravipudi film but not at the salary of Rs 16 crores as demanded by her or as media reports. She will be paid Rs 6 crores only as per siasat.com and her dates are less. Compared to the amount she quoted, this is 66.66% less. Which is her last Hit film ? OTT release TEST was no great shakes either.  Her Malayalam film of Mammooty- Mohanlal together and the Yash film Toxic are notables apart from the Sundar C film produced by Vels.

Nayanthara said that as she said in the Netflix documentary, along with hubby Vignesh will be creating an empire of their own and those who are writing negative about them will be forced to write good about them. About her hubby Vikki she said that for the first time in her life it was she who confessed to Vikki about her love to him as she felt that he might not understand her love to him. She said that till then her ego never allowed her to take the first step to tell her mind.

DUDE is set for a wide release across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi markets on October 17. However, controversy has emerged around the film’s title.

Telugu actor-director Tej, who has been promoting his own film titled Dude for over a year, expressed shock and disappointment over Mythri’s use of the same name. Tej clarified that he has no intention of clashing with a big banner like Mythri. He has already brought the issue to their attention and is hoping for a positive resolution. Tourist Family is first South Indian film to enter Letterboxd. Diehard cinephiles might already know about the popular entertainment website Letterboxd. It’s an Auckland-based film-focused social platform for diehard movie buffs. The international platform is renowned for its movie-centric global lists, such as ‘Top 50 Movies’ lists and the ‘One Million’ and ‘Two Million’ watched lists, amongst others. As per an insider close to The Economic Times, the film will stream on JioHotstar from May 31, 2025. Producer Yuvaraj Ganesan explained that the OTT release was pre-decided, and the team had to plan the theatrical launch accordingly

The Director , Balu Mahendra was aghast when Kamal suggested Sarala as his pair.

It was a long ambition for Nagesh to don a woman's role and fool the audience with a fake name

Unfortunately Kamal expanded Avinasi and insisted Nagesh do the role

Nagesh refused preferring that popular comedian & writer Janagaraj who had shown comedy chops in Aboorva Sagodharargal do the role of Avinasi

Kamal persuaded Nagesh over and over again until. Nagesh finally agreed and in TWO HOURS WITH CRAZY MOHAN, expanded the entire scene of Avinasi from a 4 Minute screentime to 20 minutes

SN Lakshmi was invited to play a comic role and she relished the challenge

Avinasi was the most popular character in the film after Kameswaran played by Kamal. Avinasi drew so many laughs that popular former AP CM NT Ramarao personally invited Nagesh for lunch and relished the role

A remake was suggested with Chiranjeevi at the helm and Avinashi played by a guy called Babu Mohan but Babu Mohan humbly said “Only Relangi can play this role after Nagesh Garu” (Relangi is likely a Telugu comedian legend)

Chiranjeevi said “No” and also humbly said this film was Kamals masterpiece and a remake would be a mockery to Kamal

Nagarjuna in 1997 was interested in remaking this film but Kamal said no and that he wasn't interested in giving rights

Nayanthara and Trisha’s old interviews about the friendship that they do not share is doing the rounds. The background to the both actress rift is that both were shortlisted for the heroine role in Thalapathy's Kuruvi. It went to Trisha. Nayanthara admits that they had misunderstandings and that they are not friends but mere acquaintances. Nayan says that the word Friend has a big meaning. However she says that she has no issues with Trisha or anyone else. She recollects that during Billa, Namitha would walk in to the sets and wish everyone but her. She said that she did not want to pretend that they are pals.

Trisha however denied that she had any argument with Nayanthara and felt common friends blew it up. She said that it was not a professional rivalry but a misunderstanding created by mutual friends. Trisha was the first choice for Samantha's role in Vignesh S directorial 'Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal' with Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. It was Nayanthara’s production. Trisha backed out and she said that she had a good reason to do so. At that time Ponniyin Selvam had not released and post that Trisha bounced back as South Queen.

Backlash hits Operation Sindoor / Urvashi Daughter debut OK / Priya Varrier to adjust to survive ?

 Operation Sindoor  title was most wanted by film makers. The first to get it and release the poster has after the backlash withdrawn. Jio Cinema denied that it was doing any film on this operation.  Vicky Bhagnani and Nicky Bhagnani reportedly announced a new film, Operation Sindoor, under the banner of Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films. (via News 18) The announcement has stirred a wave of reactions online. Inspired by India’s recent military retaliation against the deadly terror strike in Pahalgam, the poster of the film has evoked divided opinions among netizens.

The shared poster shows a female soldier in combat uniform putting sindoor (vermilion) in her hair as she stands against the backdrop of a war-ravaged landscape, complete with fighter planes, tanks, and barbed wire. The powerful image is supported by the title of the film, Operation Sindoor, with a blob of sindoor having taken the place of the second “O.” The tricolour rendering of the well-known slogan “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” adds further to the nationalistic undertones of the film. user commented, “Sharam karo yaar war is on (Shame on You, War is on). Third netizen added, “Aise koi actor aake baat nahi kar raha hai… Par apna fayda dekh ke movie banane nikal pade sab (No actor is coming forward to speak up like this… But the moment they saw personal gain, everyone rushed to make movies).

In response to the backlash, the production house behind Operation Sindoor issued a heartfelt apology through their official Instagram account. They clarified that the film was made with the utmost respect for the Indian Armed Forces and was never intended to provoke or hurt anyone’s sentiments.

Actress Urvashi’s daughter Kunjatta has finally got the nod to act in films.  Urvashi said everybody except her was in favour of Kunjatta joining films and so she decided to give the green signal. Kunjatta will make her debut this year. The plan is to do a film together and as she says, it is not enough that it is a family entertainer. Asked whether she can direct a film, Urvashi said that direction nowadays involved road shows, theatre visits and promotions and for her it was not possible as she wants to come home after work.

The theatrical release of Bhool Chuk Maaf starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, has been cancelled after heightened security drills across India. The announcement, which was made by its makers a day ahead of the release, followed India’s Operation Sindoor targeting terror camps in Pakistan. The film will now premiere on OTT. Makers said that they had taken this decision keeping in mind nation’s priorities in mind.

The All India Cine Workers Association(AICWA) has issued a firm statement enforcing a complete ban on Pakistani artists, filmmakers, and financiers working in the Indian cinema industry. This statement came immediately after Pakistani actors Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, and Mawra Hocane, who have worked in Bollywood, criticized the Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor.

AICWA strongly condemns the filmmakers, producers, and artists of the film Abir Gulal for casting Pakistani actor Fawad Khan despite the Pulwama attack, where several Indian soldiers were martyred. What message do such filmmakers want to convey? They even came to India to release this film, showing complete disregard for the nation’s sentiments. This is a disgrace to the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers.

The depiction of the Godhra incident from a secular viewpoint or in other words the victims were Muslims given shelter by a Hindu and the attackers were Hindus in L 2 Empuran seems to have caught the imagination of overseas Indian diaspora. The Film has set a benchmark for Malayalam filmdom in terms of overseas collections. This is the first film for Mollywood to cross $10Million and also 100 crore at the Overseas box office. This record also looks unbeatable and may remain untouched for long years.  The scripting of Murali Gopy combined with Prithviraj’s Direction and the ` shock marketing’ later yielded dividends overseas but not within India.

The film’s box office run was limited to Kerala and not outside. The final Indian tally shows that it has not collected enough to cover the investment from the ticket sales. On OTT too L 2 Empuran is not a great attraction. The controversial elements were later dited out by Director after a backlash on social media.
