On October 12 th, we posted the story and now Kerala music band Thaikkudam Bridge has confirmed it through a FB post; Now it has to be seen whether music director Jakes would confirm the lift from his film Ayyappanum Koshiyum (AK) by Kantara music director. It is unlikely as the film's hero Prithiviraj is distributing Kantara in Kerala and Jakes is also scoring music for the actor's upcoming film. As Kannada film Kantara's Telugu and Hindi version is to release this Friday after the Kannada version was hailed by the industry , a tweet has come which has posted the Varaha Roopam in the film and pointed out that music director Ajanessh Loknath has lifted it from Kerala based Thaikudam Bridge whose music Navarasam brought out by Mathrubhumi Music. Netizens have pointed out that the similarities are too many and that Thaikudam’s Navarasam had come out five years ago.
The Kannada film director- actor
Rishab Shetty is currently the toast of the film industry across all languages.
Allu Aravind the veteran Telugu producer and son in law of Chiranjeevi is
distributing the film in Andhra/ TS and he said that the film made him feel
that he has lot more to learn about the art of film making.
A netizen said much of the
musical score in the film is a ripoff from other films- Song Sringra Sriye is
lift of Marathi song Apsara Aali in
Natrang released in 2010 and got actress Sonalee Kulkarani wide appreciation
for the lawani song. Similarly the Rebel song music is a lift from theme music of Malayalam
film Ayyappanum Koshiyum - 2020 film remade in Telugu as Bheemla Nayak . The
theme music Mundoor Maadan, a folk song on deity Maadan was composed by Jakes
Bejoy. Jakes song Amma for the Telugu film Oka Oka jeevitham was a hit.
Some defended it as
inspiration and not a `lift’. However the plagiarism charge has taken lot of
sheen
If you find any resemblance of
Varaha Roopam of Kanthara don't call it Plagiarism. Because this album song is
5 years old. You know what I mean
